Biography
Gilad Nezer was born in Israel in 1973. Besides being a musician, he has a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. His musical career started as a trombone player, and at eighteen he started to sing in chamber ensembles and as a soloist. Gilad has been awarded the AICF scholarships in Israel since 1995 to support his development as a singer. In 2002 he came to Holland in order to complete his studies with a Master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (the opera department), studying with Barbara Pearson and Diane Forlano. From 2004 he is a member of ‘Het Nederland’s Kamerkoor’. Gilad’s repertoire includes operatic roles, Oratorio, early music and Lieder, as well as Jewish liturgy (from 2005 is he the chief cantor of the liberal synagogue in Amsterdam). He takes part in diverse solo, opera and ensemble work of all genres and styles, as well as composing, arranging and recording music. He has performed as a soloist with the main orchestras in Israel, as well as in the Netherlands.
