Coming from Tilburg, Holland is one of the original producers hailing from The Hague’s infamous BUNKER label. RA-X has been around since the early 90’s, producing his noise electro sound for the masses. Together with the old school pioneers Rude 66 and Unit Moebius, they molded the Dutch electro and techno scene into shape with a relentless stream of 12"s, most of them anonymous and always on point!
RA-X offers minimalistic and rough, deep electrofunk which can provide the soundtrack to both the dancefloor and a riot at the local plant. Cranking the machines up to the max and adding subtle influences from Idm and the Old School of Dutch Electro, the melodies are never far out of reach and phase in and out of his music. His music is often described as an extension to the UR sound, bringing a dark and almost revolutionary feel to electro.
RA-X started out releasing 12"s on Bunker Records and Acid Planet, got signed to underground giant KK Records with Unit Moebius and released 3 albums and 6 12"s with them. In between there were tracks on various comps and the occasional 12" on outsider labels like Silver Recordings (now U-Cover) and Scottish label Stronghold. After his acclaimed release in 2003 on the Kommando 6 label from Augsburg, Germany "THE LEBEN UND TOD EP" RA-X dropped "THE OVERTHROW EP" on Angelmaker Records in 2004. This proved to be one of his most successful releases to date, even ending up in the lists of respected dj's like DAVE CLARKE, SUBURBAN KNIGHT and DJ HELL. RA-X is currently running his own label ANGELMAKER RECORDS. They released the worldwide acclaimed "Powerslaves - an Electro Tribute to Iron Maiden" cd and 12" in 2003 and have had a lot of mainstream media attention ever since. As the labelboss and main man, RA-X has been in the media everywhere, from Mexico to the U.S.A. (even the N.Y. Times did a piece!) Japan and all over Europe. He is currently completing a remix album, with classic RA-X tracks being remixed by the likes of Doormouse, DMX Krew, Kettel, Chris Clark, Drop The Lime, Magas and loads more. This album is to be expected in February 2005...
