The Skabadivers were founded in 1998 on the initiative of lead singer Caroline Admiraal, who wanted to play her own type of ska music and starting her own band seemed the best way to do so. The different musical influences and preferences of the band members, in combination with the love for contemporary ska with an off-beat rhythm, fits the freedom, energy and one of a kind mentality that The Skabadivers aim for. When The Skabadivers perform on stage they take their motto to heart. Crowds go wild when Caroline and her rude-boys hit the stage with their ferocious performance. They only play their own songs, mostly written by Caroline. All their songs consist of the happy style and fun factor that fits The Skabadivers the best.
